Opinion

Ignorance or Greed, Anyone?

When you vote to increase taxes on businesses, you are voting for your own smaller paycheck, fewer available jobs, and less benefits. Not just for yourself, but for everyone else. Do you honestly believe you or your coworkers will get a raise when the company you work for was just hit with another $50k in taxes this year? The taxes YOU voted for at the ballot box?

When you vote to increase taxes on those who own and rent out apartments and homes, you are voting for your own rent increase. And voting for everyone else to pay more in rent.

When you vote for higher gas taxes that greatly impact the trucking industry while barely impacting what you pay at the pump each month, you are voting to pay higher prices at the supermarket and at every other store and business you visit. And voting that everyone else will pay more.

When you vote believing someone else, and not you, will pay more? You’re voting from a stand of pure ignorance, gullibility, or stupidity. And, from a position of greed.

When you vote to demand those who are successful to “pay their fair share” while they already pay 1000x more in taxes than you do, and while you contribute almost nothing to society? You are actually demanding others pay to cover your share of the pie. That’s not “fair” at all.

When you vote to have someone erase your student loan debt, you’re forcing people who didn’t have the luxury of a higher education to pay for yours.

It’s easy to look around with ignorance and not realize how your actions and votes are directly designed to impact others…as long as it has no negative impact on you.

But it does

Some people are just too naive to realize it. Or too angry at their own lack of drive and personal achievement that they want to lash out and penalize those who have earned their own success.

So cast your votes and watch your rent go up. Watch the cost of groceries and incidentals go through the roof. Watch as you cannot afford both necessities and luxuries, while all the higher costs you voted into play rob you of your chance to make something of your life. While robbing the rest of us, as well…

You have no one to blame but yourself…and the hundreds of thousands, and even millions, who vote out of ignorance and greed and anger as you do.
