Of course, when Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler finally decided to speak out against the rioters in Portland, he could not resist making a jab at Trump.
The rioters set fire to a police precinct, and blocked the exits with people inside. Everyone inside could have been killed. but he did not just call them out for this outrageous attempt to murder innocent people. He went on to say,
“Don’t think for a moment that you are if you are participating in this activity, you are not being a prop for the reelection campaign of Donald Trump — because you absolutely are,” he said. “You are creating the B-roll film that will be used in ads nationally to help Donald Trump during this campaign. If you don’t want to be part of that, then don’t show up.”
At some point, these Democrats in leadership, will need to be forced to reckon with the complete disregard they have for their responsibilities, and the disregard they have for the rule of law. Hopefully, it will be quicker rather than later.
