RightWay Rebuttal, By Big E. “Why Black People Hate White People” – Mr Reagan

A conservative political commentator who goes by Mr. Reagan, put out a video last year called “Why Black People Hate White People”. (Video Below) I think the gross generalization in the title speaks for itself so let’s just move on. He released this video around the time when Black Lies Matter “activists” were going around and asking white people to kneel before them on camera. It was a sickening display and I said so when it was going on.

Thankfully, I don’t think that fad lasted very long. In Mr. Reagan’s video response, he posited a theory as to why black people “hate” white people. He didn’t qualify it in any way and claimed that he was communicating a “brutal truth”. I don’t know Mr. Reagan and I am not familiar with his work aside from this video, so I will only address the content of this video.

Here is the original posted video if you care to watch it:

He starts off telling a story about a friend of his who tells him that if he dates a blond woman, she can no longer be friends with him. The reasoning he attributes to her is silly and you can watch and judge for yourself. But that story leads him to a larger question of whether or not black people resent white people and why that might be.

His hypothesis is that white people have accumulated wealth because they invented everything. Everything that makes life easier for the rest of us was invented by white people? Really? Without even doing a search, I knew he was dead wrong and ignorant of historical facts.

I did school reports on a number of black inventors who created things that people around the world take for granted.
One of the most important contributions by a black man that immediately came to mind was the method of separating blood plasma for transfusion, allowing it to be stored for longer periods of time. Dr. Charles R. Drew developed this process and came to be known as the father of the blood bank.

A black man named Garrett Morgan invented the traffic light, used all over the world. He also invented the gas mask.

The refrigerated truck, which allows food to be transported without spoiling and the roof mounted HVAC unit were invented by a black man named Fredrick McKinley Jones.

A black woman named Mary Van Brittan Brown invented home security systems and Joseph Jackson invented programmable remote controls.

Alexander Miles invented automatic elevator doors and Granville T. Woods invented the telephone transmitter which laid the groundwork for the modern telephone system.

Alexander Miles – Wikipedia

Alexander Miles (May 18, 1838 – May 7, 1918) was an African American inventor and businessman, known for being awarded a patent for automatically opening and closing elevator doors. He was awarded U.S. patent 371,207 on October 11, 1887. Alexander Miles was born on May 18, 1838 Pickaway County, Ohio, the son of Michael and Mary Miles.

I could go on, but you get the idea.
Mr. Reagan went on to make some dubious claims about race and resentment which I found lacking any deep thought or analysis. The first part of his story offered the most insight in to the subject which was that his friend, with no outside influences resented a group of people, not because of how they treated her, but how she perceived herself in comparison to them, based on characteristics over which neither she nor the other people had any control.

That has nothing to do with generational wealth or who invented what. That is a result of poor parenting and poor education. Mr. Reagan may very well be a nice guy and his political beliefs, aside from this subject may be in line with the conservative movement, but the brutal truth he promised in this video was anything but.
