Watch: During Major Ice Storm City of Detroit Steals Clothing, Blankets, & Documents From Homeless; Leaving Them To Freeze
During one of the coldest, and potentially deadiest ice storms the nation has ever seen, The “compassionate” liberals who run the city of Detroit MI decided to ransack, pillage and dismantle 2 large homeless encampments; leaving the homeless without anything but the clothes on their backs to combat the harsh weather conditions.
WXYZ 7 Detroit told the Story:
DETROIT (WXYZ) — “What they did was totally wrong,” said 66-year-old Howard, a homeless senior, in tears.
Despite losing parts of his fingers to frostbite a month ago, last night he says he was forced to sleep without much more than the clothes on his back, after the city, in conjunction with Detroit police, came through and wiped out the living areas of two popular spots acting as makeshift camps for the homeless: the underground area of Hart Plaza and this hidden spot underneath an overpass by Joe Louis Arena.
Gail Marlow, of Motor City Mission, stocks food and supplies for the homeless in her trunk. But last night, she almost ran out after encountering several homeless who said everything they had accumulated through donations were now completetly gone, including tents, sleeping bags, coats, boots, hats, and survival backpacks — all of which had been donated in a fundraiser to help the needy through the cold winter days.
Also lost in the sweep? Homeless mats hand-made out of hundreds of recycled grocery bags — each one entailing 50 hours of labor on the part of volunteers.
With no opportunity to collect his critical documents, Howard says even his wallet and ID were taken in the sweep of items, and to make matters worse– all of it happening just hours before the impending ice storm.
The homeless senior says he’s left feeling helpless and frustrated with the city, which he says, initially told dozens of homeless they could stay as long as they could clean up the area and bring it up to sanitation standards.
As a Detroit resident, Howard says he expects more from the city and Mayor Mike Duggan than to be left out in the cold, empty handed.

After the failed liberal policies of the Democrat leadership in Detroit had all but completely destroyed the once great, beautiful and thriving city; many were left destitute and homeless.
And so, instead of helping these people get back some of the safety and dignity they once had, the city officials doubled down, and destroyed their only shelter and took every possesion they had left.
These are the same Democrats who lecture us and insist we should open our borders, and take in millions of other poor, homeless people from other countries. Even though they cannot, (no will not), take care of their own people in one of our once magnificent major cities here in America.
Think about that when you are sitting in your warm, safe, and comfy chair, looking at political ads and facebook posts online, telling you how compassionate the left is. While you are deciding who you should vote into office this coming election cycle, think about the people who will be making these policy decisions.
And remember that great cities sometimes fall, and anyone of us could end up down on our luck, even homeless, at anytime.
But the real travesty here isn’t that they attempted to clean up a dirty homeless encampment, but rather, that they did it at one of the coldest times of year. During what has been called a possible record low ice storm. Tempratures, they say, might get down to minus -40° F.
The powerful people on the left in our country do not care about the people, they only care about POWER. They care about finding ways that they can keep the minorities and the poor in object poverty…
…so that they can keep that power and control over all of us.
