Women all over the United States are going without the services we feel important. Salons of all kinds are closed until there is some end to the chaos that is Covid-19. We are getting by, but we are ready to return to some normalcy.
Lori Lightfoot, Chicago’s Mayor, has had a haircut. The stylist posted pictures with the Mayor, and people are upset. It makes no sense for someone in leadership to defy the very orders they are putting in place in towns, cities, and states all over the US.
In defending herself she said, “I’m the public face of this city. I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye.” There is no requirement for those on tv to look any certain way. Why does she think she is special? Where are her repercussions for breaking her state’s shelter in place order?
